OUR HISTORY
HOW OUR JOURNEY BEGAN
In 2021, two individuals, Monica Akinyi and Duncan Omwaga, were visiting a family in Migori Kenya when they discovered that the family of seven had gone without food for more than three days. This discovery prompted them to take action, and they purchased enough food to feed the children for over a month. After that, they realized that many children in the community were suffering from a lack of food, so they decided to start a program to address the needs of those children. That’s how The Beautiful Kids Foundation was born. The Foundation is a registered non-profit organization that provides food, school fee, healthcare, clothing, and other essential items to children in need.
Meet Christine Alua
At just five years old, Christine has already faced more hardship than most children her age. Living in a rural village where resources are scarce, Christine’s family has struggled to provide even the most basic necessities. Her parents work long hours, but the family still finds it difficult to afford enough food or the supplies Christine needs for school.
For many months, Christine’s stomach often rumbled with hunger, and she was unable to focus on her lessons because she didn’t have enough energy to concentrate. School was a challenge, not because Christine lacked the ability to learn, but because her body was simply too weak to keep up. Without regular meals or the right tools for learning, Christine’s future seemed uncertain.
That was until the Beautiful Kids Foundation learned about her situation.
Food for Her Growing Body, and a Chance for Her Growing Mind
When Christine’s story came to our attention, we knew that we had to step in to help. We provided her family with a monthly food supply to ensure that she would have the nutrition she needed to grow strong and healthy. Fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, and other essential foods began arriving at her home, filling her once-empty kitchen.
But the foundation’s support didn’t stop with food. We also supplied Christine with the school supplies she needed to thrive in her early education. New books, pencils, and a backpack full of learning materials were given to her, helping her feel more confident and excited to go to school each day.
Christine’s formation: From Hunger to Hope.
In just a few months, the difference in Christine was remarkable. With her body nourished and her energy restored, she began to show up in class with a bright smile and a keen eagerness to learn. Teachers noticed a marked improvement in her participation, and her classmates were delighted to see her so enthusiastic.
Christine’s teacher, Mrs. ALila, recalls the first time she saw Christine’s transformation: “Before, Christine would sit quietly, too tired to engage. But now, she raises her hand in class, eager to answer questions. She’s learning to read and write, and she’s so proud of her progress!”
At home, Christine’s parents also noticed the change. Her mother, Maria, shares, “When Christine started receiving food from Beautiful Kids Foundation, I saw how much it helped her. She wasn’t tired all the time, and she started getting excited about learning. I can’t thank the foundation enough for giving her this chance.”
A Future Full of Possibilities.
Now, Christine is thriving—both physically and academically. She looks forward to every new lesson and can often be found telling her younger siblings about what she learned in school that day. She dreams of becoming a teacher one day, so she can help other children who, like her, have faced hardship.
Her teachers believe she has the potential to achieve anything she sets her mind to, and with the continued support of Beautiful Kids Foundation, Christine is on a path to realizing her dreams.
“I want to learn more and help other kids who don’t have enough food or school supplies,” Christine says with a hopeful smile.
“When I grow up, I want to teach them just like my teacher does for me.”
How You Can Help More Children Like Christine.
Christine’s story is just one of many children whose lives are being transformed by the Beautiful Kids Foundation. By providing food and educational support, we are helping children like Christine overcome barriers to their growth and development, giving them the tools to build a brighter future.
Your donation can help ensure that more children receive the nourishment they need to stay healthy and the educational opportunities they deserve. Together, we can make a lasting impact—one child, one meal, one lesson at a time.
Meet Joy Aoko
Joy Aoko,a 14 years old girl is an orphan in Kenya who struggled in her life for food and education.
Joy lives in a community where opportunities are limited. Her parents, despite their best efforts, can’t afford to send her to extracurricular programs or purchase a computer for her homework assignments. As a result, Joy struggled with keeping up in her classes, particularly in science and maths. Her dreams of becoming an engineer seemed out of reach.
When the Beautiful Kids Foundation learned about Joy’s struggles, we provided her with the tools to succeed—technology for her schoolwork, after-school tutoring, and mentorship to help her navigate the challenges of adolescence. With the extra support, Joy’s grades improved significantly. She began staying after school for extra lessons in maths, and her tutor, Mr. Thomas, made sure that Joy understood the difficult concepts that once seemed impossible.
With the guidance and resources provided by the foundation, Joy has not only caught up in school, but she now dreams of studying engineering in college. She recently won a science fair competition for a project he designed to improve water filtration in her community.
“I used to feel like I wasn’t smart enough,” Joy says. “But now, I know that if I work hard, anything is possible.”
Meet Joseph Okambo
Joseph’s Recovered Confidence
Joseph is a 12-year-old boy with a big heart. However, he has faced many challenges in life. After a traumatic experience that affected his family, Joseph started to fall behind in school. His grades dropped, he began avoiding social situations, and he struggled with feelings of anxiety and sadness. His teachers were concerned but didn’t know how to help.
When the Beautiful Kids Foundation was contacted, we immediately knew that Joseph would benefit from a comprehensive support plan. We helped connect him with a counselor to address his emotional well-being and provided him with tutoring to help him get back on track academically. Additionally, we enrolled him in an extracurricular program where he could explore his interests, including sports and team-building activities.
Over time, Joseph became more engaged in school and started participating in class discussions again. His confidence grew as he joined the soccer team, where he learned the value of teamwork and perseverance. By the end of the year, Joseph had improved his grades and made several new friends.
“I used to feel like no one understood me, but now I feel stronger,” Joseph says. “The Beautiful Kids Foundation helped me get back on my feet, and now I feel like I can do anything
